I don’t know about you, but when I signed on for the whole love, marriage and kid thing, I had no idea how utterly expensive it was going to be. If you’re a parent like me who desperately wants to give her child everything her little heart desires, you’ve probably spent a small fortune.
Between my daughter’s obsession with The Staten Island Mall and her hectic extracurricular activities schedule — gymnastics, piano and now she’d like to do gymnastics, too — my wallet is beyond stretched. And with summer here, and the high cost of day camp, it seems like there really is no end in sight. Or is there?
I know it sounds unbelievable that in New York City — certainly one of the most expensive places to exist, let alone raise a child or two (and I have no idea how people with three or more make ends meet) — actually has some fun and fabulous activities that won’t cost you a penny! That’s right, all these activities are FREE!!
First on your list: The NYC Parks department Events Calendar Get up, get out, and do something!
