Soon winter break for the kids will be upon us and we will be packing up the brood and heading on a road trip so I thought it would be fun to share 10 things my kids said on our last eight hour road trip and things your kids will *probably bark at you from the back seat of a VERY.LONG.CAR.RIDE.
#1 Daddy can you stop drifting (apparently my husband has a tendency to drive off the road)
#2 Mommy can you please control the sun ( My 16 year old would prefer that the sun be redirected, and apparently- I all of a sudden have the power to do just that)
#3 I feel like we’ve aged for years in this car..mommy you look like you are 50 ( Hmmm I will be 45 in August- but 50?!)
#4 Are we there yet in Florida? (This was uttered 45 minutes out of Staten Island, and every twenty minutes thereafter.)
##5 I feel a little lightheaded ( Yeah and so do I kid- we’ve been in this car for a GAGILLION hours)
#6 Daddy won’t let Mommy drive because he thinks all women are bad drivers (This is true- but really it’s less work for me so you won’t see me complaining)
#7 I miss my phone so much ( this was uttered FIVE MINUTES after playing with her phone until the battery died)
#8 I’m not picking my nose ( oh my 12 year old is ALWAYS picking his nose)
#9 It smells like poop. ( That could be because we had to cart a bag of pooh in the car from our dogs for 90 miles until the next rest stop- you know nothing says ROAD TRIP like a nice bag of poop)?
#10 Can a GPS tell the future…if it tells you when you are going to get there shouldn’t it tell you what is going to happen when you get there? (If my son can figure out a way to achieve this– well I’ll cut you all in on it!)
The bottom line is traveling with your family can get complicated, fast. In fact, 23% of parents in the US say one of their main concerns when traveling is keeping their kids entertained. With the holidays just around the corner, parents can look to offline viewing on Netflix to keep everything, and everyone, under control while on the go. From the tried-and-true shows you can rely on like Beat Bugs and Luna Petunia to calm any meltdown, to discovering new show obsessions like PJ Masks, Netflix downloads are a must-have travel essential for parents and their kids.
So when it’s time to go on a trip together, one thing is for sure: when Netflix at home becomes Netflix on the go, everyone stays content, engaged and, most importantly, NOT bored.
How does Netflix keep your family sane and entertained while on the go? No matter if it’s for your littlest one, pre-teen or anyone in between, there are Netflix shows for everyone in the family to pack in their carry-on. And it’s not just Netflix originals, check out the ‘Available for Download’ menu on the Netflix app on your mobile or tablet device and browse all of the titles available to take with you whenever and wherever you want.
While vacationing may be easy, getting there is hard, and being trapped in the car on a family road trip can feel like being in Litchfield. This cute and relatable parody will have you humming along for the whole ride.
