7 Steps to Get The Quintessential GAME OF THRONES BRAIDED Hair LOOK! #HairTips

June 12, 2014 by Melissa Chapman 1 Comment

Is there a certain age at which it is no longer acceptable to ROCK A BRAID? Maybe so- but I could care less- as a curly haired girl I LIVE for braiding my hair and I will be that gray-haired old woman wearing braids to the grocery store. I also DEVOUR the braids which adorn the gorgeously intricate hairstyles that have adorned season 4 of Game of Thrones. But how can I get the look? Thankfully- Butterfly Studio Salon stylist Jason Dougherty gave me   his expert step-by-step guide on how to create one of Daenerys’ fabulous braided looks, so that we can all   get the elaborate, ethereal hairstyle at home!

7 Steps to to Get The Quintessential GAME OF THRONES BRAIDED Hair LOOK! #HairTips

#1 Split hair down the middle and part out a section around the temple of the head to be used for this top braid.

#2Place a light gel or serum like Shu Uemura’s Touch of Gloss on the crown for shine.

#3 Then create an inverted braid along the head on both sides and connect in the back.

#4 Prep the remaining hair with Oribe’s Dry Texture Spray.

#5 Start a Waterfall Braid along the head on both sides and connect with the first braid.

#6 Finally, use a curling wand to curl the hair.

#7 Use your hands and a comb to backcomb the hair for this textured messy look. Place an ornate necklace as a headpiece for an added touch.
