I thought this was going to have too much crumb topping boy was I wrong!
My biggest critic (hubby) is a huge fan of Apple Crisp and I got a “MMM that is good”
Another one for the Thanksgiving Dessert Table (I can’t wait until Thanksgiving)
Recipe:
1 20oz. of No Sugar Added Apple Pie filling, Comstock makes great pie filling
Âľ cup of All Purpose Flour, I like Gold Medal
5 Tbsp of Cold 56% Veggie Oil Butter, I recently found Blue Bonnet
½ Cup of Golden Sweetener, I like Monkfruit
½ Cup of White Granulated Sweetener, Monkfruit works great
1 tsp of Ground Cinnamon
Preheat oven 350 degrees. I used my cast iron pan for this but any 9” pie dish will work.
In a large bowl, add your flour, sweeteners & cinnamon. Add 5 tbsps of butter.
You’re going to “cut in” butter, see pic. I use a fork but you can use a butter cutter if you have it. You want to mash and combine the butter with the flour mixture until you have a small pebble consistency.
Some use a food processor not sure how that will work with such a soft butter but if that’s what you wish to do, freeze the butter first.
Empty your apple pie filling into your chosen dish, then top with flour crumble.
Bake 30-35 minutes or until pie filling is bubbling up and your crumble is just toasted.
Let cool and dig in!!!!
