Congrats to our winner Natalie S.
In just a few days, our kids will be donning their uniforms, carrying backpacks and lacing up their shiny new just-for-school shoes. Personally, I am giddy about the prospect of a new year, crisp fall weather, and my son's entry into the big boy school leagues as an official third-grader.
I'm trying my best to engender a sense of excitement in him regarding the prospect of a new school year. A tall order, I know, especially for an 8-year-old who is not keen about sitting behind a desk, limited free play and homework.
“Mommy I know you said I will need to buckle down,” he said, “but does that mean we all have to wear seat belts at our desks?”
Of course, I assured him that while he won't quite literally be strapped to his desk via a buckle, he will be expected to listen, stay seated and pay attention to the teachers.
I was about to tell him he'll also need to soak up all the information, but worried he might begin to think he'd need to bring a sponge to school with him, I refrained from such a mention. Who knew these 8-year-olds took everything we say so literally?
So whether you're gearing up a first- or eighth-grader for a new academic year and all that such an endeavor entails, keep reading for some school supplies and accessories from Seltzer Good that are sure to generate excitement about the year ahead.

I’ve been trying to help my nephews (twins) with their children (6). They have been having a hard time, so I’m sending care packages (mostly little items, like a lunch box, books). So that’s my goal! It’s so much fun to package it up and send 🙂 Thanks!
Having them go to bed early and wake up early!
