Having a baby is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences in any woman’s life. It is also by the very same token an experience that can (at least in my case) wreak havoc on said woman’s body and Beauty routine( which is why I am sharing Beauty Tips for Moms Living in the Carpool Lane ) Let’s just break it down here for a moment– you are carrying and growing another person inside of you- and so there’s that which can create some major issues for your once taut belly (and don’t even GET ME STARTED ON THE KANGAROO POUCH left behind by a c-section).
If you decide to breastfeed you can expect your breasts to deflate upon completion and well I COULD GO ON. The truth is though- having a baby and being able to carry said baby to term is a MIRACLE. And believe me I worked awfully hard to grow the two humans I take care of on a daily basis but that is not to say their arrivals did not MAJORLY IMPACT my body. ( I love to remind my daughter that I BROKE EVERY BLOOD VESSEL IN MY FACE during her labor and delivery whenever she is acting a bit fresh and all I need to do is point to my C-section scar to remind my son of his entrance into this world- but I digress.)

Consult with a Physician!
What I loved most about my visit with Dr. Greenfield of Schweiger Dermatology aside from her oh so gentle way of administering the Botox is that she truly gets that as a woman I am not trying to recapture my youth. Rather my intention is to simply be the best version of myself at 45 years old.
Be practical about the type and breadth of injectible you get
I don’t want to ERASE the lines I’ve earned- as those are a huge part of who I am- they tell my story- they are a reminder of all the wonderful years I’ve lived and breathed- I just want to be the best 45 year old I can be minus that pesky wrinkle between my eyebrows, which is known as the glabellar region. And I feel so fortunate that I was able to get some candid answers to some of my questions about how Botox and other neuromodulating toxins to smooth out wrinkles.
According to Dr. Greenfield wrinkles are formed when facial muscles contract causing the overlying skin to fold, and just like paper that is folded repeatedly the skin will eventually have a permanent crease or a wrinkle. It is best to use neuromuscular blockers early before the deep crease or wrinkle is formed. It blocks the nerve impulse to muscles paralyzing them and blocking their ability to contract and thereby smoothing the overlying skin.
Always practice good skin care
It is also important to practice preventative skincare tips to keep your skin from prematurely aging which includes applying sunscreen ALL YEAR LONG. Dr. Greenfield has created a groundbreaking #SPFBOOST Pill (order on https://spfboost.com/) that is plant based which people can take to supplement their sunscreen use!
