Being a lifelong lover of all sports it always makes me feel amazing when my eight year old son shows an interest in sports. We recently went through a softball clinic and my son has showed interest and enthusiasm in the games. I’m not sure if he was just trying to make me happy but either way I will not put pressure on him- and I just want him to find his way to harboring a love of baseball at his own pace. We attended a Mets baseball game at Citi Field earlier in the year and he was thrilled to hear we will be going back again on Father’s Day. I look forward to it because it is something I love and I hope we can bond at this game as it can become something we can do together as a father and son.
Going to baseball games was always the highlight of the summer when I was growing up. I’ll never forget seeing Tom Seaver’s near perfect game in person! It was always a natural thing for my father and I to go to a few games every summer and I honestly don’t know who enjoyed the games more, me or my Dad. If you are a father and a sports fan there is no better way to spend Father’s Day than at Citi Field making new memories with your son. Lets go Mets!
And this Father’s Day :Bring Dad to Citi Field when the host the Cubs on Father’s Day Sunday, June 16 at 1:10 P.M.
