I’ll admit it– I adore stuffed animals- in fact, anyone who steps through my candy apple red front door ( which I begged my husband to paint red and he luckily obliged) is sure to be either slightly uncomfortable by the abundance of stuffed animals in my house or tickled by their presence.
I “blame” my kids for all the dolls, bears and toys which are perched in almost every nook and cranny of my living room, dining room and even the stair wells, but really it’s all me. I just love bright colored happy faces- even if they are on inanimate objects- and so when offered an opportunity to visit the Build-A-Bear store at the Staten Island Mall, well if my kids wouldn’t have obliged me- I would’ve paid two other ones to show up in their place.
The truth is I am a HUGE Peanuts fan and so Build-A-Bear Workshop ®’s new relationship with Peanuts Worldwide, which offers make-your-own Snoopy in stores and online at buildabear.com ® beginning on September 16 for just $23 had me sold!
But creating your very own Snoopy at Build-A-Bear is no ordinary stuffed animal experience. Kids get to stuff their bears ( so that they feel just right being snuggled, pick out a heart for them and even a recording which can say things like I love you every time you squeeze their Snoopy’s paw, and each Snoopy is also musical- he sings the peanuts theme and his ears flap (really it’s totally sweet!) Other characters from the Peanuts gang, including Snoopy’s sidekick, Woodstock, and best friend, Charlie Brown, are available in pre-stuffed mini-form for $7.50 each.

While your kids can dress Snoopy as his famous Flying Ace persona in Ace Hat and Scarf set ($7) and Bomber Jacket ($10.50), he’s also at Build-A-Bear Workshop just in time for Halloween. And the best part is that kids ( including mine) can take this three dimensional experience and translate it into a virtual one too. Families who purchase Snoopy receive exclusive gifts to be redeemed on Bearville.com, the Build-A-Bear Workshop online entertainment destination and virtual world. Guests will receive a virtual Snoopy Avatar and virtual dog house for their Cub Condo. Additionally, all Guests in Bearville will be able to go on Snoopy’s Great Pumpkin Patch Quest.
So while the weather outside may be frightful is always sunny and cheerful at Build-A-Bear, and definitely a place worth heading over to this weekend!
