Feel like your Face needs a Lift? Try Ultherapy is written in partnership with Ultherapy. The opinions and text are all mine. Results may not occur for all patients.
Nobody, including myself, is immune to the aging process. The truth is- I can use every skin cream and potion and yet, like it or not, as I age I am powerless when it comes to halting the steady decline in my face's collagen production. In case you missed it, here are the very sobering facts: as collagen production decreases, the skin loses its elasticity causing wrinkles to form. And the kicker? The face is often the first – and most exposed – part of the body to show signs of aging. And while I'm not quite at the cut and stitch facelift stage- I am interested in keeping skin from prematurely aging. Then I found out about a new treatment called Ultherapy (did I mention that ageless wonder Christie Brinkley is their ambassador?!) and of course I needed to get the 411 on just how this noninvasive procedure (no need to get a full on facelift) might potentially keep my skin just a tad tighter. Bottom Line: If like me You Feel like your Face needs a Lift? Try Ultherapy

Feel like your Face needs a Lift? Try Ultherapy
What is Ultherapy.?
Ultherapy is a non-surgical method to tighten and lift your skin and it FDA cleared for performing non-surgical lifts using ultrasound technology. It helps skin produce new collagen and elastin, which helps restore the skins’ elasticity. And since I don’t want a full facelift; I just have some slight sagging in the chin, Ultherapy seems like the perfect non-invasive solution for me.
So how does it work?
The Ultherapy device not only sees underneath the skin but it is also delivers heat energy at low levels, triggering a natural response under the skin to produce fresh, new collagen. With only a single treatment, your collagen is stimulated to grow anew and results can sometimes be seen immediately. For the treatment to fully take effect, it will occur gradually.
Ultherapy utilizes ultrasound energy which has been used in medical field for over 50 years and is FDA cleared. A good Ultherapy candidate is someone who has mild to moderate skin looseness — where the skin begins to feel and look less firm on the neck, chin or eyebrow. It doesn’t claim to replace a facelift but it is perfect for a candidate like myself who does not need a facelift and displays minor sagging on my jowls and chin.
After doing my research I finally scheduled my Ultherapy treatment at Dr. Doris Day’s office with their medical aesthetician Holly Montgomery hoping to get the skin under my chin tightened up and, in my opinion, Ultherapy seems to be the easiest way to achieve those goals, if like me, you aren’t ready for a facelift.
At first Ms. Montgomery (who I learned has performed over 700 Ultherapy procedures) cleansed my skin and gave me a pill for relaxation. She began by scoring regions of my face and neck with a wax pencil and began the treatment by systematically applying the ultrasound transducer to each region of my face and neck. Ms. Montgomery explained, as she was providing me with the treatment, that the deeper skin is targeted and then the second round is performed on the more superficial skin layers. The entire process took a little more than an hour for my treatment.
I literally felt the SLIGHTEST bit of mild stinging during the ultrasound, and immediately after the procedure experienced zero discomfort. Over the next several days I could already see a significant change in my jaw line and yes my face just seemed more taut! I think the best part of this procedure is the fact that it is noninvasive and I was able to resume my work later that day. Results take two to three months to be evident and complete post-procedure and I cannot wait to see the complete transformation! And the best part? We’ve talked about doing something like this, but are just too scared. Plus, here in Iowa there aren’t near as many options as in a big city like New York!
This is great I love the idea of doing something like this just to freshen up and get rid of some signs of aging.
Wow! This sounds like something I need to add to my list! I can’t believe you experience ZERO pain – sounds like a miracle!
I never knew that ultherapy was a nonsurgical method to tighten your skin. It would be good to consider this if you don’t want actual therapy. My sister wants a facelift, so maybe this would be a good way to do it.
