If you’ve got kids who you need some motivation to get off the couch and who are ready to get outdoors, make it your business to find a local Landscape Structures Inclusive playground
Kids can engage in FREE PLAY at a Landscape Structures Inclusive playgrounds which are just about the coolest ways for kids of all abilities to get their daily dose of Vitamin “P” on ! They are filled with uber cool structures that encourage through inclusive play and ultimately help kids learn life lessons such as leadership, persistence, support and empathy!
We had a chance to visit a local Landscape Structures Inclusive playground in NYC which featured their custom PlayBooster® playstructure – a modern, yet nature-inspired design.
Custom tree structures help block the sun, keeping the structure cooler for little hands while blocking UV rays. Log Steppers and rock climbers offer a realistic, natural look to the playground while also providing a climbing challenge.
Additions like Chinning Bars and the Corkscrew Climber help kids build upper-body strength and confidence.

And it was truly awe-inspiring to watch so many kids enjoying their inclusive play- which goes far beyond accessibility and is all about engaging and stimulating every one of the five senses and being a vehicle for all kids of all ages and stages to exercise their minds and bodies in the best possible environment!
Not surprisingly a by-product of these inclusive playgrounds is that they ultimately promote Social equity and inclusion and increasingly diverse social communities- which in my opinion are just more reasons why you and your kids should find a local Landscape Structures Inclusive playground !
Bottom line: Not only did my kid get a major dose of his daily VITAMIN P at this Landscape Structures Inclusive playground but I watched as kids of all abilities enjoyed this kind of Inclusive Play. kids learn life lessons such as leadership, persistence, support and empathy.
That’s why they create play environments where all kids can play together. Inclusive playgrounds provide a platform for social equity and encourage the interactions that shape kids into thinkers, dreamers and leaders.
Improve your self-esteem and overall mood
If you get outside and get a little active, you will enjoy plenty of physical and mental benefits. According to healthcare researchers, one meta-analysis of 10 studies found that physical activity in the presence of nature for as little as five minutes can result in significant improvements in both mood and self-esteem.
“You get a very substantial benefit from the first five minutes,” said Researcher Jules Pretty from the University of Essex, who stated that working out near water generated the greatest positive effects. “We should be encouraging people in busy and stressed environments to get outside regularly, even for short bits of time.” Get your neighbors together and with some empty boxes, hula-hoops, balls, yoga mats and fabric and you’ll be amazed how long kids will play.
Increase vitamin D levels
Simply letting the sunlight hit your skin will help create and active vitamin D buildup in your body. According to the Harvard Medical School, vitamin D actually helps prevent and fight dangerous conditions from osteoporosis and cancer to depression and heart attacks. Be sure not to overdo your family’s exposure to the sun while you’re outside, but make sure to schedule some time each day to step outside and get some sunlight!
Your family culture will strengthen
Just living in the same house with all your family members won’t get you that much closer. You all need to actually do things as a family and not just hide in certain corners of the house staring at your respective screens.
Get outside and play with the family, share stories and have a blast together. You don’t even need to wait for those summer days, either.
Become less dependent on technology
Staring at all those electronic devices all day long can ruin your eyesight over time. Even if you aren’t as obsessed with technology as most people, your kids might be getting too reliant on their screens. Getting outside and leaving those devices behind can feel so refreshing and will actually protect your family’s eyes from being seriously harmed. Your kids won’t thank you, at first, but every parent should learn strategies for tearing their kids away from their devices.
Stop wasting your days inside on the couch and get outside as much as you can. now is the perfect time to try some of these ideas in real life.
