Get your Back to School Season On With The Staten Island Family and WIN $100
I seriously am still kind of in shock that I have a daughter who is a freshman in college and a son starting HIGH SCHOOL.
I remember putting my daughter in her very first pre-school class at two and a half years old- with her my little pony lunch bag and I have these vivid sense memories (I can remember what I was wearing, what color my hair was) and standing outside the classroom door while she cried for a solid twenty minutes straight.
And my son followed suit, except as soon as he started to cry the teachers knew they had to have a garbage pail at the ready because he would inevitably vomit from crying so much. Fast forward all these years later and I'm lucky if I get and ” I love you too” as they walk out the door!

Oh cool, I need to enter to win! I can’t believe school will be back in session next month. Ack. My son will be a senior and my daughter is in 7th grade. I can hardly believe it.
One ip to start the year off right is to ‘refresh’ as much as possible some of last years lessons especially those they might have struggled with and make it fun (if you can) Having worked in the schools I know the first few months is rehashing so if they know it, they will be a step ahead.
My tip is to get plenty of sleep… no matter your age.

My back to school tip is to visit the school before the first day so that kids get familiar with the surroundings and where their classroom will be.

I have my kids start going to bed at a decent time about 2-3 weeks before they go back to school so they get used to having to go to bed early and wake up early.

My biggest tip is to try to find out about a month ahead of the schedule for lunches and any snacks. From there, start getting kids on the same eating schedule they will have at school and about a week later, start the sleeping schedule for at night and stick to both for the last few weeks of summer. If your kids still nap and the school will not let them, then make sure you stop the naps a few weeks ahead.
It’s so true that the days are long but the years are short! My kids are heading back to school after 2 years home schooling so it’s extra bittersweet. Well, more sweet than bitter. LOL
I was always sad when my kids had to go back to school. I always took them to their school a day or two before and let them see their classroom or walk through their schedule.
I always like to be all set up a week before school it makes everything easier and less stress on the first week of school

I am grateful we have one month left here. The summer always passes way too fast. I have yet to dive into the pool fully. I swim all the time but it’s not really summer until I dive in fully. Anyways, your poor son. God. Boy, teachers sure have to deal with so many oddball things like vomit. They really are undervalued. I will pop back to check your BTS content out.
Hang in there mama! It’s hard when it hits you all of sudden. Where does the time go? My youngest is going to Kindergarten, my oldest is 20, and my middle child is going into third!
I’m one of your stalkers! Ha! I follow you everywhere! Seriously, though, your KIDS. Your son is so handsome and your daughter is gorgeous, I love her look.
My tip would be to shop sales and start shopping/planning as early as possible.

Grab extra school supplies now while stores have everything super cheap. You never know when your child needs supplies at home or they come home saying that they need a new box of crayons. I have always bought extra over the years so that my kids have a place to shop mid-year. Saves me time and money.
A couple of weeks before it’s a good idea to start going to bed gradually earlier.

I can’t believe the school season is starting so soon. I need to do a lot of shopping for these girls. $100 would go a long way!
I feel so out of the loop this year with no kids going back to school! But the season is definitely here, everywhere you look!
What a great giveaway!! We actually started our back to school clothes shopping the other day. I swear summer went by way too fast!
Back to school tips are always helpful. Can’t believe it’s BTS again soon. My kids don’t go back to school until after Labor Day though, so we still have over a month to enjoy the summer break! 🙂
I am sending my youngest to full day preschool this year. Next year will be the huge year with one in high school, middle school, and kindergarten.
Get back to routine two weeks before works well for us.

I have 3 kids that are entering new schools this year. My 4 year old is entering pre-k, and she is ready. But my boys are not as excited. One is beginning middle school and one is beginning high school. Our schools start back up on August 8th, so this week we will be preparing by getting back on school sleeping schedule. We will all miss staying up late and sleeping in. My tip would be to get back on school schedule at least a week before it starts.
