Many Americans rank moving as one of the most stressful things they have to do in their lifetime. Relocating within a huge metropolitan area such as New York City can be even more difficult than what the average person experiences. Googling for a mover can lead to even more confusion than ever. All of their websites claim they provide excellent service and are the #1 mover in New York (How many #1’s can there be?!).
Luckily in this day and age, anyone can verify their claims by turning to Google and Yelp ratings. The company that really stands out on Staten Island is Go To Moving & Storage the #1 moving company in Staten Island that TRULY deserves their rating!
From the moment I got in touch with them I felt I was in good hands. Not only always available and polite, Eugene and Paul are also very sharp and know their stuff. They reply via email as fast as machines, and when you call their main number 646-250-8699 you get someone on the phone right away instead of going through the miserable “Press 1 if you want to stay on the phone forever” menu. When I booked them for my move, they sent me my paperwork as a pdf and I was able to sign it electronically to secure my moving date. No need to print, scan, or deal with carbon copies. Welcome to the 21st century!
My experience with Go To Moving was that it was one of the easiest moves I ever made. The help was so courteous, helpful and they took over from the time they were in the house until the couches were moved. It was a little bit difficult because the furniture they were moving belonged to my mother, who recently passed away. So this was no ordinary move and I felt like I needed a team to give it extra special care and not just throw her possessions into a truck. On top of everything it was raining so I didn’t want the furniture to get wet.
When the movers arrived at my mom’s house they immediately got into the house they wiped their shoes dry, and started wrapping up the furniture in bubble wrap, then cellophane wrap, until the couches were completely covered. They then carefully lifted them down the stairs and out to the truck. Not a bang, ding or bump on the way out or into the truck. We led them to our house, a 20 minute drive, and on arrival to our house they brought the couches in. Once again wiping their feet before entering they brought the two couches in with no bumping or nicks. Even if they did bang them they were so well wrapped they would not be harmed. Lastly they unwrapped both couches and set them down carefully in the places we had prepared. All the wrapping was taken with them and the couches dry and cushions positioned properly. They bestowed the care and consideration which I felt was necessary given the sensitive nature of mother’s furniture which we now had to remember her.
I went a little deeper and learned a bit more about these movers. They are a small, family owned business located in Staten Island. They have 6 trucks in their fleet in various sizes, and can handle just about any size moves, including pianos, walk ups and long distance. One of the nicest parts about the company is the owner, Paul Lenkiewicz. He is a gentleman in his late 20s who is trying to grow his business the right way. He seeks out to buy new generations trucks with smaller, bio-diesel engines which reduce emissions. They provide an option to involve re-usable plastic crates for your move instead of cardboard boxes to reduce waste. And the coolest thing is: in 2017 Go To Moving started a program where once a month they will do a move for free for someone who needs it. Examples of people for whom the program is intended for include victims of natural disasters, domestic violence, or struggling artists who can barter their future services in exchange for the move costs being covered. This is really, really cool stuff!
So, next time you need a mover, big or small, use my recommendation and go with Go To Moving & Storage – a company who DESERVES their title of #1 moving company in Staten Island!

They sound like a great moving company. I love how careful they are with everything. That’s the hallmark of a great moving company.

These guys sound great. I have dealt with some real stinkers when it comes to moving companies, so I appreciate a company that wants to do a good job.
I have had some horrible movers. This company sounds fantastic!
Never underestimate the power of a good moving company. When you find a good one, use them and spread the word. They sound wonderful.
Moving is stressful and the fear of getting your stuff all messed while the move is another horror. This company sounds professional and careful!
We moved a few years ago and did it all on our own! While we aren’t planning to move anytime soon, we will hire movers next time!

I loved your video! It was good that you recorded while they packed and picked up furniture. They seem to be very reputable.
I’m glad you found a great moving company! It can be hard to trust people to transfer our entire life in a truck.
What a great moving company! My parents just asked me for a recommend and I will let them know about this one!
Well, this is my first visit to your blog! Your moving company blog provided us valuable information to work on moving storage. You have done a excellent job!
Wished I would’ve found you guys before I moved! Horrible experience I had.
Excellent, honest post! It’s difficult to have a reliable moving company coming out of Staten Island.
Nice post! Choosing a professional moving company is very important. Thanks for sharing this article and good luck for more amazing work.
Of course this is an advertisement as indicated on your headline. This is a v horrible company. I left them bad reviews on website, and the guy would harass you by posting my name and address online. I bet if he found out about this comment, he would try to delete it. That guy has an issue. I guess he needs to constantly pay somebody to leave positive reviews to keep his scam company running.
Amazing post! There are not more reliable moving companies on Staten island and finding a good moving company is difficult. You helped a lot and I really appreciate that.
This really is an amazing post! Very helpful in choosing a moving company in Staten Island. You are doing great and keep up the amazing work.
I love your packing tips. My wife and I need to move all of our stuff. We’ll have to consider hiring a moving and storage company.
You sound like a great company! Good luck.
Family owned business seems to be very reliable. If you take care of your clients as it is written above I wish good luck and all the best.
Thank you very much for sharing! Very timely tips! So useful! Thank You for your precious experience. So on time! Genius!
Ask the movers to provide an estimated budget accentuating all the services from packing to unpacking. Having an idea about all such things in advance will help you to be organized in your relocation process. You can start packing your corporeal possessions as soon as you gather an idea about these things, the whole experience can be painless.
I’m glad that you mentioned relocating to a large metropolitan region like New York City might be considerably more challenging than the typical person. Since my family is moving to a new home, we intend to buy new appliances and furniture. And some critical furniture needs to be stored. I will find a reliable self-storage company to handle this issue.
