Hair Extensions for Your Hair Type – How to Choose the Right One?
Thanks to Zala human hair extension for partnerning with me on this post!
Hair extensions are a true gift for women who lack naturally long, luscious, and thick locks. They provide you with the fastest way to get that mermaid-length hair that you often see on the red carpet. Not only that, but hair extensions are also excellent for hiding a bad hairdo and wearing your favorite hairstyles.
Depending on your hair type and existing hair condition, extensions can instantly transform your appearance, making you look beautiful, stylish, and elegant. But hair extensions exist in many
different forms, so how do you choose the right one for your hair type?
Read on to explore your options:
1. Tape-in Hair Extensions
Tape-in hair extensions are best for fine or thin hair. These extensions come as individual wefts
that are applied to your hair using the adhesive tape attached to the base of the wefts. This works best for fine or thin hair because the tape is almost unnoticeable. Also, the best tape-in
hair extensions will lay flat against your head, making the extensions look natural even when
applied to fine hair.
For best results, make sure to visit your stylist to install tape-in hair extensions. Also, do not
apply oily products to the areas where the wefts are attached to your hair, as it can cause the
tape to slip. And once applied, you can wear tape extensions for three to six weeks, after which
you’ll have to go to your stylist for reapplication or adjustment of the wefts.

2. Clip-in Hair Extensions
These extensions work best for women with medium-thick hair. And like tape extensions, clip-
ins come in the form of single wefts but with small, discreet clips at the base instead of tape.
Installing clip-in extensions is easy. The pressure-sensitive clips latch onto your hair, holding the
extensions firmly in place. With some practice, you can quickly learn to install these extensions
at home.
The best part about clip extensions is that you can wear, remove, and reapply them whenever
you want. No long-term commitment to hair extensions here! For example, you can remove
them before sleeping and then reapply them the following day.
For seamless blending, make sure to buy premium-quality extensions like the Zala human hair extension.
Extensions made of human hair are silky-soft, which helps them blend perfectly
with your natural hair.

3. Fusion or Bonded Hair Extensions
These are great for medium to thick hair. Unlike tape and clip extensions, fusion extensions
come as individual hair strands that are applied to your hair with keratin or special glue. On
average, they last for three to four months and even more with proper care.
Do not apply oils, serums, and other oily products to the areas where the extensions bond to
your natural hair because they can detach the strands. Unfortunately, you cannot reuse fusion
or bonded hair extensions. Also, hairstylists take around seven to eight hours to apply these
extensions, which can be pretty expensive.
4. Weave-in or Sew-in Extensions
If your hair is thick, curly, or rough, weave-in or sew-in extensions have your back. You have to
visit a salon to have these extensions installed. Your hairstylist will start by creating segments of
your natural hair and braid them in cornrows from one ear to the other. In the next step, the
stylist will sew the hair extensions into the braids using a needle and thread.
These hair wefts are reusable, but you have to go to your stylist every three or four weeks to
tighten the braids. These extensions are not suitable for women with fine or thin hair as the
weight of the wefts may damage the hair.

5. Micro-Bead Hair Extensions
These hair extensions provide good results for women with medium to thick hair. Micro-beads
are like fusion extensions as individual hair strands are attached to small portions of your
natural hair. But instead of using glue or keratin, the extensions are fastened to the hair sections
using tiny beads.
We do not recommend micro-beads for very thin or fine hair because the bonds can be visible.
Also, do not apply oily products to the areas where the beads are attached to your hair as it can
result in slippage of the extensions.
