Verizon Helps Keep My Family in a Happily Disconnected “togetherness” is a sponsored post
While I would love to say that my kids and I spend our entire weekends- unplugged and playing Scrabble, reading Sonnets to one another out loud and crafting glorious flower crowns- that would be a BOLD FACED LIE. The truth is Verizon Helps Keep My Family in a Happily Disconnected “togetherness”.
This is not to say that our weekends don’t include nature walks around the sumptuous Chinese Scholar Gardens of Snug Harbor Cultural center (with our dogs in tow one of whom Barks like a very bad doggie AT EVERY DOG HE MAKES EYE CONTACT WITH) and being the recipients of impromptu piano concerts by my 13 year old (who is gearing up for his recital) and even being immersed in unplugged moments (no cameras allowed because as my daughter reminds me “MOMMY YOU DON’T NEED TO DOCUMENT EVER MOMENT OF MY LIFE WITH YOUR CAMERA”) with my daughter.
With all that being said technology is a very necessary part of our family’s rhythm and I honestly LOVE that it very much helps me to keep us all together in a sort of Disconnected “togetherness”. So just how is it that Verizon Helps Keep My Family in a Happily Disconnected “togetherness” and what is this Happily Disconnected togetherness – entail? Keep reading!
Verizon Helps Keep My Family in a Happily Disconnected “togetherness”
Here is the truth of the matter my daughter is 17 and my son is 13. They both have radically different interests and tastes- my son is OBSESSED with basketball while my daughter would rather be doing anything but listening to the minutiae of my son extolling the virtues of certain players and their stats. But rather than have them locked in their respective bedrooms- with my son on his iPad streaming basketball games and my daughter in her bedroom streaming episodes of Grey’s Anatomy on her phone- they can AT the very least be in the living room together in a sort of disconnected togetherness- doing their own individual thing but physically together. And it is ALL THANKS TO Verizon
And as a mother that is all I can hope for- that these two precious people although so individual in their own right will find ways to be together. And the funny part of that being in the same room, my son has peeked over and has begun to watch with my daughter (although I can’t in all sincerity say that my daughter has done the same when it comes to basketball!).
Of course, thanks to Verizon my husband and I ARE in the thick of this Happily Disconnected “togetherness”as well. Since I am usually blogging or doing social media suffice it to say my laptop is almost always with me and so I too am sitting right there in the living room happily ensconced in my favorite red velvet chair- , tweeting my lil heart out while fielding questions and listening to a real time play by play of my the latest basketball game du jour that my son is regaled by.
And in this Happily Disconnected “togetherness” my husband finally gets what he has ALWAYS wanted– control over the remote. Yes- while my kids and I are doing our own thing thanks to Verizon my husband is sitting on the couch streaming like a BOSS.
FUN FACT: Mix and match Verizon’s new Unlimited plans for everyone in your family.Choose from three different plans – all on the same, easy to manage account. Your kids might just be getting started with their own device, or your growing teens need an Unlimited plan that delivers the basics – calling, texting and streaming without worrying about overages. You might demand more from your plan with premium features like HD video and a 4G LTE mobile hotspot. Whether that sounds like your family, the reverse is true or you fall somewhere in between, the choices are here. And in case you need some backup, Verizon Smart Family is available to be your other partner in parenting.
And it’s all simple to manage on a single family account.
Yes that is right, it might not be conventional Family together time- but at the very least VERIZON allows us to all be in the same room even though we are doing different things (i.e. homework on computer, watching one show on a tablet while the rest of the family watches on TV) and honestly I couldn’t ask for more!
