I’ll admit it- the new VTech digital home phone is not your grandma’s rotary one

March 29, 2011 by Melissa Chapman 1 Comment

We are quite old school in this house, i.e., we STILL have rotary phones, you know the kind you may possibly find at a yard sale or covered in dust in your great grandma’s attic. And to be quite honest- I thought I was fine with having an avregae, just press the buttons and dial a number kind of phone until , the VTech Three Handset Expandable Cordless Phone System with Digital Answering System and Caller ID arrived in a box at my door (Thank you Golin Harris G-ds) .

After suffering through a gaggle of phones with static, unclear reception and buttons that didn’t work (we employed tweezers to press some of them) this very cool, thin, lightweight VTech unit’s base can be mounted on a wall and it includes an ADDITIONAL two phones as well.

But really the BEST part….I finally have three phones that work perfectly with crystal clear reception and only needed one phonejack as the other two’s small bases can just be plugged in and placed anywhere ( my daughetr and son each requested one!). Oh wait and did I mention that not only do they receive calls but they can be used to communicate with each other throughout the house like walkie talkies. And the phones also function as speakerphones, for easy, hands free operation and store all data where you can revoew your call history and even listen to your digital answering machine messages, wihtout having to go ANYWHERE near the base it’s SO JETSONS!)

In a nutshell it’s got:
•DECT 6.0 technology
•Expandable up to 5 handsets
•Push-to-Talk intercom
•Digital answering system
•Handset speakerphone
But if you want ALL the details (and trust me there are a lot more bells and whistles) keep reading here

So yes in additon to playing with VTech toys now we’re using their phones too!
