I’m gonna help you Get Gorgeous (and win a lil swag)

April 18, 2011 by Melissa Chapman 67 Comments

Congrats to our winner Julie Jones!

Two of my favorite women on this planet; Vera Sweeney and Audrey McClellan hosted their second Getting Gorgeous bash… which featured a consortium of companies committed to helping us women feel good about ourselves from the inside out. Here I am with Victoria Pericon and my little girl as we were literally surrounded by companies looking to glam and pamper us. The reason these events are so well-attended, is because Vera and Audrey are two real women- they’re moms who are insanely busy- yet they also don’t want to sacrifice their physical and emotional selves at the expense of their mommy hoods. So through their company they’ve created these events- designed to help us moms remember that we need to nurture our bodies and our souls, if we truly want to be the best parents and professionals we possibly can. I for one was so excited to be able to meet some companies whose products I am already enthused about as well as newer companies- of who I am now a fan.

Some of my favorite takeaways…

Degree Women their new products are REVOLUTIONARY… and for a girl who sweats a lot their motionSENSEâ„¢   “microencapsulated fragrance technology”  releases a burst of additional protection when your body gives the signal that it needs help! … a NECESSITY…

Weight Watchers online diet… no more having to trudge to meetings in the dead of winter ( I know I’ll use any excuse   NOT to participate in a diet plan) you can be a part of their supportive com munity and shed pounds- without ever leaving the comfort of your couch ( I SOO like this!)

Tide to go which are these little pens you can pop in your purse and if you drop some jelly on your shirt ( cause I am ALWAYS feeding my son PB&J wherever we go) you can whip out this pen and eradicate the stain- in literally two shakes of a lamb’s tail.  My daughter takes it to school with her and she and her friends are always using these Tide to go pens to get their lunch stains out of their white uniform shirts!

Miracle Body Jeans. What can I say about this company- they’ve made a 4 foot 11 inch chick like me- with big pulks (Yiddish word for thighs) feel like I can wear a pair of jeans and actually look SEXY!! They are truly MIRACULOUS in their cut, fabric and design and I wear them NIGHT and day.   And they now have these incredibly form flattering bathing suits aka their miracle swim suits– which of course I will be wearing come summertime!

Hanes Comfort– their stuff is just so yummy and wearable– their ankle socks are like warm slippers- and I wear their sports bras under all my wanna be like a Beverly Hills Housewife   blouses… definitely worth checking out.

Of course there were so many other companies in attendance- BJ’s Wholesale , Shopafrolic, Goody Hair, Flip Out Sandals, Simply Orange Juice – all so worth a gander on your part. And the best part of all- Vera and Audrey gave us these scrumptious gift bags with oh so many goodies- I felt bad not sharing at least one gift with all of you…

So I’m giving away a $100 gift card care of my gal pals at Getting Gorgeous to Restaurant.com Essentially you go to    Restaurant.com  where you can   redeem your gift card code .Then you    search for a restaurant and print your certificate. To enter   to win this $100 gift card all you need to do is leave a comment about your favorite place to go for a romantic dinner and why. For another entry you can follow me on Twitter at Madijack and for a third entry you can like Married my Sugar Daddy on Facebook.

Good luck. Giveaway ends Monday, April 25th at 12 midnight EST- good luck!

We don't do romantic dinners. We really don't need them. Most of the time, we place an order by phone and pick up food. I don't find eating in a restaurant with other people around romantic.

My husband only wants to eat in Mexican restaurants when we go out (he's Mexican and often homesick for food) so the atmosphere isn't super romantic, but it is enjoyable. There are a couple close by and I think a few are on restaurant.com
