I’ve been thrift store shopping since my Sophmore year in High school. My friends and I would head to the east Village and hit up Canal Street Company and Alice Underground to find crinoline skirts for $5 and the daintiest handbags for $3. We also loaded up on 1950’s-era Varsity Letter jackets and of course I adored those vintage Prom dresses. If you visit my house ninety percent of our furniture is vintage stuff we scoured from flea markets and second hand stores and I LOVE poking around my local neighborhood consignment shops, hunting for “hidden gems” — and finding them!
One of my favorites is a 1930’s sewing machine desk-I love its beautiful cherry wood and I recently found the most beautiful cocktail dress which I’m proud to say I scored for $20!
