MCCE the chamber ensemble-in-residence at the Staten Island Museum since 2004, is a consortium of primarily young, high-caliber musicians dedicated to the craft of chamber music.
With wide-ranging presentations of both classical and contemporary chamber music, combined with consummate artistry, they believe in serving two goals – entertaining audiences and exposing them to the valuable literature that is seldom heard elsewhere. In essence; Musical Chairs Chamber Ensemble, Inc. represents the next generation of emerging artists who are reshaping all that you thought you knew about classical music…and they’re doing it right here on Staten Island.
Kids (and parents and people in general) go to music and arts events because it speaks to us as humans. Children especially seem to respond to music in a deep, visercal way. For kids already studying music, this is an opportunity for them to hear and interact with professional musicians and composers. Kids love music of genres and styles. MCCE concerts provide kids with the experience of fun, concerts, exposure to high-quality musicians that blends traditional, classical music with other sytles including jazz and rock. The concerts are between 1.5 & 2 hrs long, and this weekend MCCE has got a concert Saturday, March 5th at 8:00pmat the Staten Island Museum, 75 Stuyvesant Place.
