Pre-marriage and subsequent baby in the carriage, I considered myself tragically hip – and, yes, maybe somewhat enslaved to trendy footwear. In fact, as a New York City single twentysomething, I even went so far as to fork over one entire paycheck for a pair of Jimmy Choo stilettos. Fortunately for both my pocketbook and husband, I am currently comfortably ensconced in my role as sensible mommy, and my days of flagrant spending on trendy must-haves are behind me.
And not that I like to spoil my kids rotten and shower them with gifts, but every once in a while- buying them something I know they’ll adore, whether it’s fabulous threads and gear or what I like to call indulge in a bit of “divalicious” holiday shopping, well it’s worth every penny.

For everyone MP3 players
If you’re taking a plane or car ride ANYWHERE this holiday season, kids should have their own set of tunes to enjoy, so that they will at the very least be occupied enough so as not to ask you to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes – can get VERY tricky performing such a feat on an airplane when you’re not flying first class! . My favorites these mp3 players which use Hello Kitty and Crayola to make it fun for them and also creates a sense of ownership for kids so they learn to take care of electronic gadgets. And did I mention that The Crayola MP3 player holds up to 1,800 songs and the Hello Kitty MP3 plays 6 hours of audio. I know– pretty cool!
