I have a love hate relationship with being blonde, insofar as I was born a blonde, my eyebrows to this day are PLATINUM and a source of consternation for me as I have to *color them in everyday and each night I pray to the eyebrow Gds that I will wake up and the hair which is supposed to frame my face will have miraculously darkened* and yet all that being said- MY ROOTs are a dishwater non descript light, sandy brown. In fact my eight year old LOVES to point out the fact that my hair on the bottom is yellow and my hair on the top is Brownish- a point in all his eight years he still has had a hard time coming to grips with. Ask my husband what color my hair is and he will say ” FINE”–I don’t know about you but the last time I checked FINE was not a part of the hair color spectrum.
And while I have experimented with many hair colors– black, red and chocolate brown- the only one that feels most me is blonde. And so I sit for hours on end covered with tin foil every few months to recreate that once golden halo gd gave me. And therefore I am ALWAYS on the hunt for products that will help me maintain this blonde for as long as humanly possible — anyhting to keep me out of that salon chair is something I am ALWAYS happy to pursue! So of course I was SALIVATING over Blonde starlets Stacy Keibler and the Fanning sisters as they hit the red carpet for the recent glamorous Met Ball at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City sporting blonde locks that were WHITE HOT and fabulous!
Top celebrity hair stylists used John Frieda products to get these blondes red carpet ready. Maintaining fresh, first-day blonde colour is essential to these vibrant red carpet looks. For blondes seeking to recreate these styles at home, these stylists recommend using John Frieda‘s Sheer Blonde Everlasting Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner to preserve that perfect shade of blonde. The products are specially formulated with exclusive anti-fade technology to preserve and protect hair color in the shower: the essential first step to ensure that your hair colour stays bright and vivid .
Stacy Keibler
Inspired by the stunning style and punk rock glam of Stacy Keibler’s dress, hair stylist Luke Chamberlain gave Keibler effortlessly chic, second – day waves.
Step 1 – Prep
· Luke applied John Frieda Luxurious Volume Root Booster ($5.99 at drugstores) to Stacy’s wet hair and scrunched her hair in his hands while he blowdried. “We wanted to keep as much of her natural texture as possible, ” Luke explains.
Step 2 – Style
· Next, Luke used a curling iron with a 1 ¼ inch barrel to put slight bends in her hair to keep it looking natural.
Step 3 – Perfect
· Luke finished off the look by spritzing John Frieda‘s Sheer Blonde Crystal Clear Shape & Shimmer Hairspray ($5.99 at drugstores) while Stacy’s hair was flipped upside down. This gave her hair added volume and that sexy tousled look they were going for.
Dakota Fanning
Hair stylist Giannandrea chose to give Dakota Fanning a sleek and sophisticated style to complement her sheer black dress.
Step 1 – Prep
· Giannandrea applied John Frieda Luxurious Volume Root Booster ($5.99 at drugstores) to Dakota’s crown and blasted with a blow dryer to create lift.
Step 2 – Style
· Giannandrea kept most of the left side of Dakota’s hair naturally straight while he twisted a portion of the right side of her hair downward behind her ear along her hairline and secured with bobby pins.
Step 3 – Perfect
· To finish, Giannandrea sprayed John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray ($5.99 at drugstores) to hold.
Elle Fanning
Hair stylist Giannandrea gave the 15-year-old actress a romantic and wispy hairdo to offset her bold dress and makeup.
Step 1 – Prep
· Giannandrea applied John Frieda Frizz-Ease Curl Reviver Styling Mousse ($5.99 at drugstores) to Elle’s roots to give the curl in her hair a natural boost while adding texture.
Step 2 – Style
· After sectioning off the hair, Giannandrea wrapped each section around a 1 ½ inch curling iron and then carefully brushed out. Giannandrea then twisted and braided the top section of Elle’s hair and secured with pins at the crown for a half-up half-down style.
Step 3 – Perfect
· To finish off the look, Giannandrea sprayed John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray ($5.99 at drugstores) , making sure to ruffle the styled crown with his fingers so that a few strands would come loose for a casual and angelic finish.
Maintaining fresh, first-day blonde colour is essential to these vibrant red carpet looks. And for BLONDES LIKE ME, seeking to recreate these styles at home, these stylists recommend using John Frieda‘s Sheer Blonde Everlasting Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner to preserve that perfect shade of blonde. Some of us blondes start out very blonde and it just comes in darker as the years go by. I’m one of the dirty blondes that bleaches out quite naturally with summer swimming. I find the Frieda products enhance summer blondes and would love to try these new ones. And my daughter would enjoy giving them a try also
The nice thing is our complexion – we can carry off a wide range of hair color which comes in handy as we explore the options when our blonde has darkened
