Layered Salad Jar

Thanks to Denise

Each salad jar is zero weight watchers points! I kind of put together whatever we had on hand. The salad is shredded cabbage on these. They have corn, chickpeas, cucumbers, garbanzo beans, red pepper, and carrots. There’s some vinaigrette in the bottom and the idea is when you turn them upside down the dressing goes through everything. Some others have tofu for an extra protein.

Its a great way to make salads! I put dressing on bottom, then any protein, then layer with veggies, and top with lettuce. I use 16oz mason jar and pack in the layers. Lasts at least 5 days. I dump into a plate when ready to eat! In a plate surprisingly it looks like a lot!

The basic idea is salad dressing,(Skinny Greek yogurt with Dijon mustard, fresh herbs, salt and pepper. No points)  dressing is on the bottom. to keep the salad from getting soggy. That is the first thing that goes in.Then you add harder, vegetables, proteins, softer vegetables, like cucumbers, tomatoes, and corn and then whatever your greens are.

When you are ready to eat them  shake them and empty  into a big bowl!

There’s lots of ideas online.

We’ve not done it before but just trying it. I’d like a very big salad for lunch.
