Mother’s Day Indulgences Just for Mamas
I’ll admit it: I secretly wait for Mother’s Day each year. Like other mothers, I love being a mom and wouldn’t change my job for the world. OK, so I may reconsider this when my 14-year-old son is in the middle of a terrible teen outburst but only for a split second.
Seriously, though, being a mother is one of the toughest gigs around. We moms work 24 hours on call without pay. We tactfully answer questions at a rapid-fire pace. We aid in the creation of dioramas and book reports, and we must go from 0 to 60 at a moment’s notice. If we’re lucky, we may get an unsolicited hug or wet kiss on the cheek for all our hard work. So that’s why I had to create this post- Mother’s Day Indulgences Just for Mamas.
Bottom line when Mother’s Day rolls around, we ought to indulge ourselves “ hey, we deserve it!” and with a minimum amount of coercion, hopefully our kids will be happy to come along for the ride. So for all you mamas out there who have been in the trenches for many years and for those of you starting out I’m sharing Mother’s Day Indulgences Just for Mamas
In honor of mothers, and mother figures, everywhere, Check out my favorite Mother’s Day Indulgences Just for Mamas !

Take a YOGA, BODY AWARENESS, QI GONG CLASSES
Find a core-strength yoga class, which is a fusion of traditional vinyasa, which connects the mind and body through the breath during yoga postures and aerobic movements that are designed to strengthen muscle tone. The body awareness classes teach movements to energize and stretch the body and release toxins as well as breathing and relaxation exercises. Qi Gong, considered the Mother of Tai Chi, is an internal meditative practice.
Yoga is beneficial to moms because it focuses on strengthening one’s core, getting the mid-section back in shape while creating a feeling of balance. Body awareness classes help moms get to know their body through understanding proper form and its innate ability to heal itself. Qi Gong’s intentional movements and breathing techniques help with mom’s overall well-being.
In one hour, you can strengthen your immune system, naturally define your physique and experience a mini vacation that transcends you into a more peaceful life.
Try you hand at CERAMIC HANDBUILDING ( or any type of art class)
At this class, moms can learn fundamental techniques to aid them in exploring their creativity beyond helping their kids with book reports or coloring with crayons, through their own hand-built pottery and sculpture. An art class is a wonderful outlet, an intimate environment with plenty of one-on-one attention (and no kids). If clay is not your thing, indulge in stained glass and mosaic class, techniques collage and altered books and painting from perception.
Treat yourself to a SPA service!
Stepping inside a spa is akin to shaving 10 years off one’s life. With a spa team catering to one’s every request, moms can indulge in a massage, facial, body scrub, wrap, pedicure, haircut and color in private rooms specially formulated with amenities you simply won’t get anywhere else. Try a 60-minute massage or 60-minute facial, 60-minute tri-crystal micro-dermabrasion pedicure or 60-minute spa revitalizing kerastase treatment with cut; 60-minute sea salt renewal, Zen body treatment, detoxifying seaweed treatment or Chinese herbal wrap. This is a sanctuary for personal renewal where moms can escape in treatments like an enzymatic exfoliation and massage in one and customized facials manicure and pedicures.
When all else fails get a bottle of champage, chill it and pour yourself a FLUTE!
Bottom line is this: Taking time for one’s self is just as important as a healthy meal and exercise and every mom should squeeze in one of these treats!
My mom loves taking her time off to get a massage. Yoga and exercises aren’t her thing. Skin care treatments, facial treatment, or a visit to the salon are her indulgences. She also like delicious treats and eating out in restaurants with the family for Mother’s Day.
Being a mom certainly is tough but the perks obviously outweigh the challenges. Here’s to hoping fairy godmothers want to deliver something fun at my house for Mother’s Day too. I’m sure it will come in the form of handwritten notes and grocery store flowers but those are also my very favorite for the special mom day!
I\’m a mother myself. It has it\’s ups and downs. It was worth it in the end.

I can’t speak for myself since I am not a mother, but from the mothers that I know, they all love their kids but having a day where moms can relax is relaxing. Although moms should be shown appreciation all year round, when you dedicate one day to spend time together as a family, it’s priceless.
You seem like you have a great relationship with your kids! Being a mama, even when you have amazing kids, is tough stuff. You totally deserve some pampering. Some time to yourself with a yoga class sounds dreamy.
I’m so glad you mentioned yoga. There’s a class I go to every Sunday afternoon and it’s one of the things I look forward to every week. Not only do I feel better physically, but mentally I’m far more grounded and ready to take on a new week! xx
Me time is very important for moms especially since they need that time to take care of themselves and do what they want. It’s good that you’re sharing these ideas for moms who haven’t thought about what they’re going to do for Mother’s Day.
My parents would always laugh at me because every time they came to my house I had coloring books and coloring pencils. It is so relaxing to me. This year I really want that Spa day! I need it! If I have to buy it for myself I will. 😉
These are definitely some cute gift ideas for mom for Mother’s Day! Happy Mother’s Day to you girl from one mom to another. Enjoy!
I know I would not say no to a spa service! A yoga class sounds like a perfect time for some quality “me” time!
Your daughter looks so much like you…and y’all’s hair is beautiful. Happy Mother’s to you and to all Mammas
I totally agree with taking breaks. I could really use a spa massage right now. I’ve been working so hard lately, juggling my time between my family and my mom who is sick. I barely have enough time for myself. This Mother’s day, I plan on doing a disappearing act. My family can celebrate it without me. I am going to the spa!
Whatever my Mum would like for Mother’s Day she can have (within reason). She is an amazing women, and I am so lucky to have her in my life.
