Congrats to our winner Livivua!
As a child, I always hoped my siblings and I would wear groovy outfits and form a band like the Brady Bunch. When we concluded that none of us had even slightly decent singing voices, I pinned my hopes on heading off on a big yellow bus like the Partridge family, with our instruments in tow, as we traveled back and forth to our music gigs. But after two lackluster piano lessons at our aunt’s house with a foreign-speaking teacher who desperately needed some breath mints, that dream was quickly put to bed, too.
There is something uniquely magical about music and its power to heal and comfort. In fact, research has shown that learning an instrument can help kids sharpen memory, imagination, language and reasoning skills and give them a leg up in math and science. And, of course, making music a part of the soundtrack of your kids’ childhood will make a lasting imprint on their souls; they’ll remember those impromptu living room dance parties for years to come. And while I’m thrilled to say that my son has taken up the piano with a vengeance, my daughter has not. But she can still appreciate music This August as families all around the world are coming together to celebrate the launch of Beat Bugs, the new Netflix original series inspired by the music of the Beatles which is one simple way to start making some of your own beautiful family music! Keep reading for all the deets about this fabulous show and how you can win a six month subscription to Netflix from us!
Family movie night. Car-ride duets. Weekend dance fests. The best moments happen when the family comes together — and much of that happens over music and entertainment. It’s why 40% of families say they routinely watch all sorts of shows together. It’s also why you grow nostalgic for the music your parents loved and eventually want to pass it down to your kids as well.
With the new Netflix original series Beat Bugs, inspired by the music of the Beatles, your next family sing-along can be “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.” Thanks to five charming and energetic bug-like creatures (Jay, Kumi, Crick, Buzz and Walter), families have the opportunity to come together over kid-friendly storylines and the best damn music ever made — recorded by today’s top artists, including Jennifer Hudson, P!nk, Sia and Eddie Vedder.
We want to see how you are passing the music of the Beatles down to the next era of fans with Beat Bugs. To win a free 6-month subscription card to Netflix all you have to do is share your best #BeatBugs performance and leave a comment in the comments section with a link to it! Good luck Giveaway ends August 31st! The Beat Bugs will make learning music fun and help kids ultimately experience the joy of performing.
