Prepping for Pregnancy with Proxeed Plus and our Infertility Journey

December 9, 2014 by Melissa Chapman

My husband is 15 years older than me so while I probably could have waited a few years to start a family, his biological clock was tick-tocking pretty loudly and it was pretty important to him begin our family sooner than later.

As luck would have it we had a girl, our first child, very soon after we were married and quite effortlessly so when we decided to have a second child a few years later it was surprising that we began having difficulty conceiving. While my husband was way past the age of 25- which is when male fertility starts to decrease, at age 30 I was still close to my peak fertility ( which peaks at 27 years old) so I was slightly shocked that getting pregnant for a second tie would prove to be such a hardship.

For four to six months we tried everything, I took my temperature, I knew the exact date of my ovulation, we had sex all the time and I even convinced my husband to switch from his beloved briefs to boxer shorts and avoid alcohol but unfortunately nothing seemed to work.

At the time I remember feeling like I was shouldering a lot of the blame- and I think many women, who experience issues when trying to conceive often feel the same. Which is why I love the fact that there is a product on the market like Proxeed Plus, which takes some of the pressure off us women, and makes the journey into parenting more of a team effort. Because the truth of the matter is that infertility can be caused by both male and female factors- and as such both partners need to do everything they can to give this baby-making process a real shot!

In fact after all that trying to conceive the old fashioned way when my husband and I then went to our first fertility specialist who evaluated us both and they told me I had a blockage in my fallopian tube and that I would never be able to have another child.

We talk about our Infertility Journey here and how we wish we had Proxeed Plus at our disposal back then!

We went for a second opinion and during our evaluation I was told that I could conceive but that my husband had abnormal morphologic sperm. While his abnormal morphology was not the reason for our infertility- at least we were beginning to get to the bottom of our issues- and I know my husband would have liked to have had a supplement like Proxeed Plus which gives him and his swimmers the best possible chance! Proxeed Plus is a patented prenatal male fertility supplement product specifically designed for sperm health and provides nutrients needed for developing sperm.

In fact we wish this the video series (https://www.youtube.com/user/proxeedus) from Proxeed Plus with reproductive endocrinologist and fertility expert Dr. Michael J. Heard, which addresses top preconception questions/myths men may or may not know to ask- had been around when we were in the trenches of conception! (It is really good, and I love that it is getting rid of the stigma and inviting and encouraging men to be as much of the pregnancy process as their wifely counterparts!)

After several procedures and careful monitoring I finally began to ovulate and with the help of artificial insemination we had our second child, a boy.

I know on some level my husband’s abnormal morphology still plagues him and he would have loved to have had Proxeed Plus at that time to have increased his chances and be as optimal as possible.

The vitamins and minerals are a great fertility supporter for any couple that wants to optimize their fertility. Proxeed Plus is a simple way to support male reproductive health and sperm quality by providing the nutrients needed for developing sperm. It is a patented prenatal male fertility supplement with documented quantities of L-carnitine and Acetyl-L-carnitine; the Proxeed Plus formulation contains about three to four times more carnitine than other men’s health supplements.

And the best part–it is super easy to incorporate into your lifestyle! Supporting sperm health is easy with Proxeed Plus prenatal male fertility supplement; taken twice-a-day, it comes in packets of powder that dissolve easily into water, juice, fruit smoothies/shakes or other cold beverages and has a pleasant fruit flavor. Twice daily use of Proxeed Plus prenatal male fertility supplement may benefit sperm quality in as little as 90 days. ǂ However, for maximum benefit it is recommended that Proxeed Plus be taken for six months. ǂ For optimal results it is recommended to take Proxeed Plus for at least six (6) months, but should be taken as long as needed to maintain sperm quality, an essential factor in a couple’s fertility.ǂ

And we planted an “I love you” bean plant to symbolize the creation of a new life, (in this picture it is still growing… and like our journey to pregnancy we had to exercise our patience!)

Proxeed Plus is available for purchase via phone or online for $130.00 for a one-month supply, two boxes containing 30 packets each. For more information or to place an order, visit www.proxeedplus.com or call 1-888-Proxeed (776-9333).

The bottom line is that the journey to becoming a parent (whether you are experiencing infertility like I did, or just ramping up for that next stage of your life) is full of excitement and anticipation, but it also requires a little prep—not just for the female part of the team, but FOR THE MALE PARTNER, TOO!

Sperm health and sperm quality begins to decline around the age of 25. Smoking, drinking, drugs, stress, poor nutrition, and lack of exercise can all contribute to poor sperm quality. It generally takes sperm an average of 74 days to mature and up to an additional 20 days to become capable of fertilization. Male factor is responsible in up to 50% of couples who are experiencing infertility.

And just like us women take a pre-natal vitamin to prep our bodies for conception– healthy lifestyle behaviors can help a man prepare his body for conception and support his reproductive/sperm health. And incorporating a prenatal male fertility supplement, such as Proxeed® Plus gives him that additional support from a nutritional perspective.
