It feels like our girls are being forced to mature earlier these days and so I am all about finding products and concrete ways to keep my girl and all the girls I love, focused on building their self-confidence from the inside out. Which is why this Saturday I am Swooning over Lottie, an alternative doll for children aged 3- 9.
The key point of difference from other dolls is that Lottie's body is childlike. Her dimensions (with the exception of her head) are based upon those devised by leading British scientific academics to reflect the average proportions on a nine year old girl. Lottie doesn't wear makeup, high heels or jewelry, and she can stand on her own two feet. (always a useful life skill for all girls, big and small).

One of my favorite Lottie Dolls is Butterfly Protector Lottie; who introduces science in a fun and engaging way as the doll box contains collector cards detailing the stages of the butterfly life cycle; a basic science unit taught at Key Stage 1 primary school science in the UK, as well as Common Core Standards in the USA.
I also love that they help encourage girls' interest in football in a positive, fun and accessible way and promote a healthy body shape. Developing football skills is not only a great way to get fit and healthy, but it also helps girls build confidence to reach their potential.
So- what are you swooning over this Saturday?
These are so cute! My big girl would love!
