I’ve been dreading turning the big 40 since I turned 35 and was unceremoniously CUT-out of that VERY coveted demographic that is most sought after and feted- you know those 18-35 year-old YOUNGINS. Don’t get me wrong- 40 is a great number- in fact I feel blessed that I have REACHED this milestone when so many others have not– and I know I am the sum of all my parts and years- those years have made me who I am. Of course 40 doesn’t not scream- FUN SEXY, ENERGY.. It whispers- go GET A MAMMOGRAM, get ready for peri-menopause ( Thank you so much to that pad company who sent me a discrete email about how if I pee when I laugh it might be time to use their products) and other not-very-sexy-thoughts. And then one of my besties Complicated Mama introduced me to the team at Cottonelle and little did they BOTH KNOW it was a MATCH MADE in #letstalkbums heaven and a chance for me to prove that turning 40 could be empowering, and yes a chance to STRUT my stuff at New York Fashion Week!
