The College Student First Aid Kit is a Dorm Room Essential is a sponsored post.
After years of thinking, planning and saving my daughter is ready to go to college.
Like so many parents we are not only grateful that our child got into college but that she got a hard earned scholarship to attend the University of Wisconsin at Madison through The Posse Foundation.
The only small issue other than the cold and snow in the Midwest is that it is 14 hours away by car from NYC.
She will really be on her own over the course of the next four years other than visiting twice a year on summer and winter breaks.
We already miss her and wish we were by her side as we have been for these first 18 years of her life.
Curious as we are we made the road trip to Madison this past week for a campus visit. It was a long drive
but we got through it and were in awe of what a great looking school and city she will call home.
We loved our visit and took this opportunity to visit the bookstore and outfit our girl in all the school red regalia and of course get UW-Madison sticker for our car. Our daughter has made us so proud and we relish in displaying our bragging rights.
Unfortunately the trip was not without a few glitches because on the third day our daughter who happens to be
named Madison began feeling a headache and upset stomach. Ironically she has always said, “I
never gets sick” so this was a new experience for her.
Thank goodness we were there for her to buy her ibuprofen and Tums which got her through the day. On the trip home we all wanted to split the driving but then Madison began to feel itchiny and developed hives on her neck and back.
She seemed to be having a type of allergic reaction to something so on the next rest stop we found some anti-histamines. Of course these made her drowsy, but took away some of the discomfort and she slept on and off for the next ten hours until we got home.
Suffice it to say- we didn't have any kind of a mom approved medicine cabinet in our possession and this trip truly drove home how ill prepared we were!
It also reiterated the fact that when my daughter is far away in college I want her completely armed and ready for any issues that will arise!
My daughter keeps reminding us in four months she is out of our house. This got me to thinking there are
so many things that can happen to our not so little girl and she has to be prepared for every emergency
because we are not going to be there for her.
I have my husband and my son to help out in a pinch but she only has herself and needs to be ready for any situation. We don’t want to send her off defenseless.
We can rest assured that if any of these illnesses crop up again while she is on her own at school
because she has The College Student First Aid.

What you will find in the kit
The College Student First aid kit is more than cotton balls and band-aids! It is way more important than other “Dorm/ College Necessities” that parents waste their money on! Think; excessive decorative pillows, exercise equipment, expensive area rugs, ironing board, kitchen/cooking gadgets and plants that will surely die!
Why The College Student First Aid Kit is a Dorm Room Essential
This mom-approved, dorm-sized, portable medicine cabinet is the brainchild of a mother of two college students who is also a college clinic Nurse Practitioner! Not only does this kit save time and money but it brings parents peace of mind!.
The College Student First Aid Kit was created by Beth Palmer Stewart, a Nurse practitioner with over 25
years of experience working with children, adolescents and young adults. Beth Palmer Stewart is a
Certified Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of healthcare experience.
Check out our review and unboxing of the kit below:
A graduate of the University of Florida (BSN, 1992) and University of Missouri – Kansas City (MSN, 1996), Beth is currently working in two college clinics in Savannah, Georgia.
Additionally, Beth has a daughter who is currently attending college and two more children who will be heading to college in the near future.
Through her recent work in college campus clinics, Beth realized that most college students tend to get similar illnesses and they have similar accidents.
Additionally, college students are almost universally unprepared to care for themselves when they become ill or injured. This kit has everything a student might need in case of any illness.
Our daughter has always been a generally healthy person but we know things do happen. The College Student First Aid Kit is a Dorm Room Essential.
I feel better knowing my daughter will be armed with the supplies to handle all situations that can arise.
With The College Student First Aid Kit she can get on with her studies when these little problems happen and I feel just a little less anxious about her living so far away!
