The Quintessential Holiday Checklist and Gift Guide is written in partnership with Tervis
The truth is- the holidays are kind of magical. It is that time of the year when everyone seems to slow down and count their blessings. We all seem to linger just a bit longer over meals with family and friends and really marinate in the beauty of ordinary moments- as the countdown to a brand new year makes us feel unusually cognizant of the evanescent nature of our lives.
I for one LOVE that the holidays force me to slow down and drink in the sweet nectar of my children’s youth as all year long we seem to be on auto-pilot as we dash from school drop off to after school activities and that buttercream birthday party weekend circuit and well a million and one to do errands.
One of my favorite things to do over the holidays is adorn gifts with pretty bows and paper –I absolutely LOVE spending hours beautifying and wrapping presents . And yes looking for JUST the right gift for each of my loved ones.
Keep reading for my tips to help you breeze through your holiday chores with confidence and stock up on the one GIFT you can give to everyone in your family and on your friends list- TERVIS Tumblers, Tervis water bottles, Tervis Wine glasses… the possibilites and accessories are endless! #1 Bake in Bulk
I’m not the cook of the family but I can make a mean batch of cookies and I love to gift them to friends and family and box them in really cute think out side of the box re-usable receptacles! And the Tervis Margaritaville – It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere – Red Parrot Ice Bucket is the perfect way to gift those holiday cookies
Of course I hate the mess and clean-up so my kids and I will usually spend one complete day whipping up 10 batches of cookies and then wrapping them so that we always have plenty on hand to give away as presents and don’t have to think about baking and can handle the more pressing matters when we are with our friends and relatives like who will FINALLY be the winner at that Game of Life and Twister!
#2 When tackling the north pole workshop dress in your holiday best ( you never know when you might get the perfect impromptu Holiday family picture).
If your have kids chances are they will be begging to visit the north pole at your local mall. And how can you blame them? A chance to glimpse the magic of Santa’s workshop and elves is a lure that is simply impossible to resist! In fact My son loves to take me on the holiday headquarters workshops at every mall across NYC and hit up as many Santas and elf shops as we possibly can. So this year I decided I’d put on makeup -as opposed to my usual yoga pants uniform, and lo and behold, we got some great shots of the two of us!
