I’m not going to lie- I LOVE everything about Aveda  all you need to do is read their mission statement to fully grasp their attitude towards respecting our planet and providing a product that is as natural as can be. And I’m GIDDY with excitement that this leader in botanical beauty and professional products has JUST unveiled Art of Nature, Aveda’s limited-edition makeup collection for Spring/Summer 2013.
Inspired by nature, boasting pure pastels and vibrant colors. The collection includes two Nourish-Minttm Smoothing Lip Colors, one Nourish-Minttm Rehydrating Lip Glaze, two Nourish-Minttm Lip Liners, one Petal Essencetm Face Accents, two Petal Essencetm Eye Definers and six Petal Essencetm Single Eye Colors.


Aveda’s Art of Nature collection  introduces a blossoming color palette created with a conscience. Its makeup goes beyond minerals with natural plant ingredients that are gentle to skin and the planet while sheer to intense shades for eyes and lips create a romantic flush of color.

Janell Geason, Artistic Director for Aveda makeup says with this collection they’re, “seeing a return to color in makeup with techniques that create a more lived-in, less  done look. The collection starts with pure pastels like the first buds of spring, and builds into lush,
high-summer color.

Aveda Petal Essence tm Single Eye Colors provide crease-resistant color with aromatic flower waxes of jasmine and geranium to create a petal-soft texture that builds and blends effortlessly. The silky, lightweight formula applies evenly and sets beautifully to deliver color that remains true throughout the day and is delicately scented with a whisper of floral aroma. Six limited-edition high-summer colors are available as part of the Art of Nature Collection: Lemongrass, Papyrus, Cinnamon Bark, Lantana, Bare Bellis and Oceanica. (U.S. $14, SRP*)

Aveda Nourish-Minttm Smoothing Lip Color formulas are infused with plant and fruit waxes to help smooth fine lines, hydrate and plump lips. Nourish-Mint Smoothing Lip Color provides creamy, saturated, full coverage with carmine-free∗ pigments. Two limited-edition shades will launch as part of the Art of Nature Collection: Cana   and Melochia Bloom. (U. S. $16, SRP*)

Nourish-Minttm Rehydrating Lip Glaze glides on smooth for immediate, even color with a satin shine. These glazes are carmine-free∗ and are available in one shade as part of the Art of Nature Collection: Kukui (U. S. $18, SRP*)

Nourish-Mint tm Lip Liner is formulated with plant waxes and fruit butters to help shape and define the lips. The plant lipids deliver a moisturization that is long-wearing, non-feathering and doesn’t smudge. Two limited-edition shades will launch as part of the

Petal Essence tm Eye Definers are formulated from jasmine petals and geranium leaves and the aromatic flower waxes make this formula creamy, blendable and smooth. It stays color-true on eyes or brow, while still respecting the delicate skin around the eye.     I would bring a brown eyeliner pencil, it can also double as an eyebrow pencil and if done right, possibly even eyeshadow 🙂 Great giveaway!

    Hopefully there will be a man with me, so because we will be running around free and naked, we will need plenty of moisturizer with sun block, we don’t want burnt or chafed asses….

    It’s so cliche but true-I’d take my eyelash curler. BUT that’s a tool so I’ll say concealer right now-not sexy but when you’re old, totally imperative!

    I think I would have to take coconut oil. It’s such a great oil to use for so many different reasons. It has natural sun protection and can be used as a cleanser, moisturizing, hair mask, lip balm, and so many other things!
