Three Ingredient Onion Rings

January 22, 2025 by Melissa Chapman 5 Comments

Three Ingredient onion rings

1 point

I absolutely love these three ingredient onion rings and crave them all the time. For a fun, gluten-free twist on standard onion rings, we bake thick slices of  onion in a silicone doughnut pan with cheese instead of breading.

When these first come out of the oven, the cheese is a bit soft and gooey, but as they cool off, the cheese crisps. If you have an onion slice that’s too big to fit in the doughnut molds, simply cut through it and slightly overlap the cut edges.

three ingredient onion rings

This is a game changer. and all six donut sized onion rings are just five points or one weight watchers point each! These are baked, not fried, and there’s no need for breading either!

Thank you WJ Hiatt for sharing

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup reduced fat shredded Colby jack cheese
  • 1 cup Chopped onions

Check out my Weight Watchers shopping list here.

Instructions

  • spray 6 ring donut pan with cooking spray
  • Lay a thin layer of cheese on bottom of donut pan then add onions and top with a sprinkle more cheese. (Too much cheese will not crisp up) so stick with the measurement.
  • 400 degrees for a bout 12-15 minutes set on paper towels to absorb oil and to make the onion rings super crisp.

These are better than any I have had. 5 points for 6 big rings (and they’re low-carb and keto-friendly, too). 🙌😁

This is a fun and simple recipe—perfect kind of comfort snack! It actually reminds me of how KFC items ( https://kfc-menus.co.uk/ ) also focus on easy, crispy, and flavour-packed options like their popcorn chicken, fries, and wraps. Whether it’s homemade onion rings or fast food favourites, it’s all about that crunchy, satisfying bite that people love.

This is a really interesting recipe idea—especially for people who enjoy cafĂ©-style drinks and snacks at home. It actually reminds me of how many people try to figure out what matcha Starbucks uses https://starbucks-menus.ca/what-matcha-does-starbucks-use/ , since their green tea lattes have that smooth, slightly sweet flavor. In reality, it’s a blended matcha powder mix designed for consistency, which is why it tastes different from pure ceremonial matcha.

“These 3-ingredient onion rings look like the perfect combination of simple and delicious. Recipes that are quick, budget-friendly, and easy to make at home are always the most useful for busy people. The crispy texture and presentation also make this the kind of food people love sharing through https://snaporbitlab.com/

These onion rings look incredibly crispy, and I love that the recipe only uses three ingredients. Simple recipes like this are often the best! We usually pair homemade onion rings with fried chicken, so I was comparing them with the latest KFC menu https://kfcmenu-prices.uk/ before deciding whether to cook or order. Thanks for sharing such an easy recipe!
