Tips to Get Fit With Avia is a sponsored post
I finally decided it was time. Maybe it was the stubborn ever increasing muffin top that pushed me over the edge, or the fact that my son asked me if I wanted to start shopping at Lane Bryant (not that there’s anything wrong with that) but I realized I just didn’t feel good.
And it’s a not about a goal weight for me- I don’t own a scale, it’s about how I feel in clothes- it’s about wanting to wear clothes and be able to tuck in my shirt. It’s about not dreading THE THOUGHT OF wearing a bathing suit. Its about feeling lighter which translates into ultimately feeling better.
I’m not ready to give up on my body, I don’t want to be complacent about that ever increasing jeans size and that I was at a point where I only felt comfortable in stretch pants. I want to take back ownership over how I feel, and I know the keys to all of that are changing my diet and just moving.
But watching TV is certainly not going to do much for you in the exercise department- Sure, there are a million and one excuses I always seem to find as to why I can’t find the time to squeeze in exercise.
However, when I think about writing them down, they all add up to one thing: I hate exercise. But, in my effort to model the behavior I’d like my kids to emulate — andhelp them indeed live their best lives — I not only have to talk the talk, but walk the walk — literally.
So If you, have fallen off the exercise wagon, and are finally ready to prove to you and your kids the benefits of exercise, and you also want to set a good example for your kids- you’ve got to unhinge your rump from the couch- get out from underneath the covers- and get moving.. even if you start indoors!
1. Just start! WALk. Sure I HATE getting off a warm couch (is there ANYONE who doesn’t?!) but as long as it keeps my muffin top at bay, I’m willing to take as many as I need to for the team.

So who is ready to join me?!? It takes time to create new habits and make changes, so I’m encouraging everyone to take the first step towards their goals. It’s time to find your motivation and discover your “why.”
My top tips for getting your walk on-
1) A good pair of shoes like Avia – You need comfort and support while you are walking and shoes that can go the distance that will keep your tootsies pain free.
2) A good walking path. I’m sl for walking where ever you can but i’ve found that finding a flat surface makes the walk easier on your deets. So if you live by a park with a walking path, or a track that is best.
3) get a walking buddy. Everything is easier when you have a support system and someone to hold you accountable! enlist a friend to take a walk -or join a walking group!
4) Start slow but don’t forget to accelerate. A little faster. A little harder. A little extra effort.
5) Never lost your focus! Make yourself a priority. Focus on the progress you made and continue on your path.
so tell me – got any more tips that I can add to my Tips to Get Fit With Avia?
