This is why I love social media! Last night I was scrolling through my instagram feed and saw the cutest and most practical DIY from lizraelupdate.com   you can follow her on IG here:  instagram.com/elisheva

The DIY?  Turn a Book into a Sneaky Hiding place to stash money or treasures which she got from this this Youtube video!  and the spruce crafts!

I am always trying to come up with hiding spots that I won't forget! I am still searching for a coin collection I hid somewhere in my house and for the life of me I can't remember where!

The nice thing about this DIY is you could use it to stash valuables or You could also use it for letter-boxing or geocashing in an indoor space.

1. Cut a Square Hole into Your Book Pages somewhere between page 50 to 100. Cover the first 50 to 100 loose pages, both the front cover and back cover of the book with plastic garbage or grocery bags and tape them securely in place. (to keep them dry)

Measure roughly 1 inch from the edge of the top page not covered with plastic and draw a rectangle cutting template with a pen and ruler.

Apply glue with a paintbrush to the outside edges of the book. Allow the book to dry.

Then Use your ruler and utility knife to trim the inside of the book. Remove the cut squares from the center of the book . continue cutting out the center of the book until you have a square hole. This will be your Sneaky Hiding place!

Next- Apply glue with a paintbrush to the inside pages and cut edges of the book. The bottom portion of the book will be glued together and form a box type structure.

Finally Place a sheet of wax paper over the glued portion of the book.

Close the book shut and put something heavy on the book to weigh it down. Allow the book to dry for 24 hours!

If you want to get fancy, you can cut out a piece of felt to put inside your Book turned into a Sneaky Hiding place!
