We ate Ragu sauce out of the jar at our pizza party (and a $150 AMEX giveaway)

October 26, 2011 by Melissa Chapman 66 Comments

Congrats to our winner Judi!

One of the perks of being a RAGU ambassador (I'm on page 2) is their “insistence” that you use their sauce and invite your friends and family to come over and experience it for themselves in a festive/party-like way.

Well here's the thing…RAGU is a pretty easy brand to get behind for two reasons.. it is so delicious I actually had my ten year old's friends asking if they could spoon it right our=t of the jar and #2 it's chock full of servings of veggies. So in my case, with a son who has a discerning palate that will only tolerate mac n cheeses and pb&j.. and maybe a few pieces of broccoli, if I get my kid to eat this sauce, as a parent I FEEL BETTER.

But back to our RAGU pizza making party: We bought three different flavors of Ragu Sauce; Traditional, Tomato and Basil and Six Cheese. Pizza Pie crusts. Shredded mozarella cheese and we diced up broccoli, onions and mushrooms.

Here's a little video about our prep!

“>

And then we let the kidlets go to town.

“>

Here I am getting my pizza on with my little guy!
“>

The girls were SO EXCITED about their Ragu experience they even created this video!

“>
So if you are ready to get your pizza makin on the good folks at RAGU are giving me a $150 AMEX card to giveaway to one lucky Married my sugar daddy reader. For a chance to win it- leave a comment here about a RAGU sauce party you'd make! For a second entry you can like Married my Sugar daddy on Facebook and for a third entry you can follow Madijack on Twitter and retweet this giveaway.
Good luck giveaway ends Friday November 4th at 12 midnight EST.

Party can be a meat ‘n sauce party too! Dice one large onion and sautee in 2-3 tbsp of oil. Add 1 1/2 lb of extra lean chopped meat and cook til browned. Add 1 jar of Ragu sauce, stir and cover. Let simmer 10 minutes. Place 1 sheet of puff party dough on bottom of 9×13 pan. Pour meat/Ragu mixture on top Then top with another sheet of puff pastry. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes at 350. Enjoy!

I would have a pasta making party. I’ve always wanted to try making homemade pasta, so what would be more fun than getting a group of girlfriends together and throwing a pasta making party using Ragu as the perfect finish to our creations!

I would use the Super Chunky Mushroom,Parmesan & Romano and the Sweet Italian Sausage and Cheese Ragu sauce and invite my Sunday School class over to make your own pizza party! I would use all kinds of extra topping such as black olives pepperoni and broccoli and cheese. I would get individual pizza crust and have the guest all make their own starting with choosing the Ragu sauce they want to use. Love Ragu in my house. I am super excited to do this party! Yummy giveaway!

Since it is Halloween time I would make Bloody Fingers for a treat. I make the fingers using Pillsbury breadstick dough from the tube. I use an egg wash to coat each finger and press an almond into the end of each finger to make a fingernail. Bake as directed on the Pillsbury instructions. I use Ragu sauce as the dipping sauce for the fingers once they come out of the oven. The breadsticks are delicious and really look like bloody fingers once they are dipped into the Ragu sauce. Enjoy!
