I admit it. I’m an anxious, overbearing stereotypical Jewish mother. I wring my hands a lot and spend much of my inner life strategizing as to how to better help my kids. One of my constant, obsessive worries pertains to my painfully thin son and the fact that I KNOW he is not getting enough protein. While my husband says I need to relax (which is exactly what a man SHOULD never say to a woman but I digress) I’m always looking for ways to supplement his steady lackluster diet of French fries and pizza. I finally felt like I was turning a corner, when I recently got him to eat a plain green pepper and some small bites of fish but as that neurotic Jewish mom I need to do more. So when I was approached by Integrated Supplements Whey Isolate Protein powders, which is essentially the purest protein, let’s just say I did a little jig and waited with baited breath for my shipment to arrive.
So just what is Integrated Supplements Whey Isolate Protein powder? Well for starters it offers 30% more protein and antioxidants per serving than a whey concentrate, the lowest amounts of fat, lactose and cholesterol. So there’s that (which my son could honestly care less about) but what he really did like was its consistency—it doesn’t clump or have chalkiness, and you can use as little as 4 oz of water to make it. It also is O-U Kosher Certified (Dairy) and I love that it comes in RECYCLABLE clear jars so you can see exactly how much you have (and when you need to stock up on more!)
And as a family who no longer eats meat protein having this supplement is truly a gift from GD. It is the perfect way to supplement and get those nutrients my growing kids need minus harming the animals I hold dear and helping to stave off climate change.
Of course being the picky eater he is—showing him jars of these Whey Isolate Protein powder – having them in flavors like Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Mint Chocolate definitely peaked his interest. Still it is protein powder so we needed to be a bit creative in how we served it up. So we added the powder to milk and stirred it up…Here is his HONEST REACTION
And since his initial glass of milk mixed with Vanilla Whey Isolate Protein powder we’ve been adding it to banana and strawberry smoothies when we want to give him extra vitamins and electrolytes in addition to its amazing protein boost.
I also figured if he likes the powder in shakes why not for breakfast on his favorite cereal? I don’t like to give him extra sugar if I can help it so I put it on the non sweetened cereals and he loved it because the flavoring of the whey isolate like vanilla and chocolate made the cereal taste even better and the biggest surprise? He asked for seconds, something he never did before sprinkling this protein ( which I’ve begun referring to as MANA from heaven!) And another point I want to make—there is NO AFTER TASTE!! Unfortunately most natural sweeteners have one consistent problem: they aren’t very good. Either they’re too bland or have a bitter after-taste or are just plain overly sweet. However Integrated Supplements Whey Isolate Protein powder combines their flavors with a Lo Han Extract and fructose and when you try it I pinky swear promise you’ll find a whole new meaning for the term “naturally sweetened”.
