Apple Mini Tarts

July 21, 2022 by Melissa Chapman Leave a Comment

I am having a love affair with wontons hence this Weight Watchers Apple Mini Tarts Recipe.

(Thanks to Breanna for sharing her version with us in the pic 1 Point Apple mini tarts The only thing she did differently from the recipe i share is she mixed sugar alternative and cinnamon with SF syrup and then brushed on the wonton wrappers.)

These are just one point  each! (see my latest recipe for Wonton Tacos). There is something so orderly and efficient about a wonton. It is this self-contained small treat that fits perfectly in the palm of one’s hand and is the ultimate finger food.

Weight Watchers Apple Mini Tarts Recipe

I love the idea of a mini tart, but they often pack a lot of extra points for traditional pastry dough.  Using a wonton wrapper instead makes it so simple, and much healthier.  You can make these and freeze them in batches to pop out and reheat, or make just a few at a time to satisfy a craving!

NOTE: This recipe makes TEN wontons. You can easily double or triple the recipe but for the sake of counting points and not overindulging, I kept the recipe small. They are only 1 point but you don’t want to eat a dozen of them because they still have calories. If you want to make 12 as I did, use the same amount of ingredients – your wontons will just be a little less full.

10 wonton wrappers
2 small green apples
6 teaspoons brown sugar

Weight Watchers Apple Mini Tarts Directions

Preheat oven to 350*F

Chop 2 apples up into tiny pieces (see photos).

Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and sugar substitute, mix apples around until they are coated.

If there’s any extra liquid, drain it from the apple mixture. If you don’t, your wontons will be soggy on the bottom and crispy on top.

Spray muffin tin (or use this silicone one), add a wonton wrapper to ten of the cavities. Divide the apple mixture evenly among 10 wonton wrappers.

Bake for 4-6 minutes or until edges of wontons is light brown. Top with sugar-free whip cream (optional). I have seen other recipes that said to cook the wontons for 15 minutes. Mine were almost burned at around 8 minutes, so just watch that they don’t burn, and bake longer if desired.

Storing Apple Pie Mini Tarts

I mentioned making larger batches.  You can definitely do that and flash freeze them until set/hardened.  Then just pop them into a gallon sized freezer bag to grab for later.  They last up to 3 months in the freezer, but I doubt I would leave them that long.  They are just too yummy!

I absolutely love apple desserts!  These Apple Pie Mini Tarts are one of my all-time favorite easy recipes to make when I am craving something sweet.  Another bonus is how pretty they are displayed on a tray or platter.  That means I can make them for parties or events and guests won’t even realize how much healthier they are!
