There is something so joyous and magical about a stuffed animal. Although inanimate its very presence can soften even the most hardened of hearts and yes, they can be mighty cuddly. Now before you tell me I am in need of a TLC intervention I will tell you that stuffed animals, can also be a great vehicle through which you can communicate with your kids. And NO ONE knows this better than the CREATOR of my newest and my favoritest stuffed animals: KIMOCHIS.
Nina Rappaport Rowan, Executive Producer of Despicable Me and Academy Award winning animated short film Bunny, created as a KIMOCHIS response to the tragic 1999 Columbine High School incident.
Nina, does not want to live in a world where children turn to violence because they feel there is nowhere else to turn. Kimochis are all about creating a safe and playful place to open up a line of communication with your children, to let them know that no matter what, they can come to you when they need emotional support, or to simply share their joyful moments.
Kimochis were created by 3 Moms On A Mission to strengthen parent child relationships, build confidence and self esteem, and to boost positive communication skills and emotional intelligence. When you start to teach children at an early age to understand what feelings are, and how to express feelings in positive ways, you raise the odds that they will communicate how they feel instead of behaving how they feel. Kimochis is a toy, but it is also a tool that helps build positive communication skills, resiliency and confidence in kids!
