So we finally got through the winter and the snow and I can safely say spring is very much in the air and making its appearance known. Not only do I love this season because two of my favorite people are born in April and May there are five additional reasons I love about this time of year.
Grilling season begins- Give me some grilled mushrooms, onions and corn on the cob and you will see one happy girl!
Outdoor exercise – Although my husband runs outdoors all year round in any weather (a fact that still mystifies me) with the warmer temps I am ready to dust off my bike and get riding with my kids in-tow. In fact we will usually bike down to the Staten Island ferry, bring our bikes on deck and then get off at Battery Park and just explore downtown and the gorgeous views from The Westside Highway.
Gardening – I love to plant a few new flowers or bushes every season to go with my perennials from years past.
Hiking –Lucky for me, Staten Island is home to luscious parks and the renowned Greenbelt and Spring is the quintessential time to grab my kids and my pups and head out on some hiking trails to admire the lush new greenery and admire all the new cherry blossoms,
Our heat bills FINALLY go way down- The warm temps mean our house is finally the perfect temp- not too hot and not too cold—which means we turn our heat WAY down and our heater gets to give our bank account a bit of a rest.
And while I hate to be a downer when the temperatures go up, while there are so many ways my life improves, I have one pesky problem—trying in vain to avoid insects from flying into the house. Of course I am totally ok with them outside as I know that bees and other flying insects play a vital part in our ecosystem but those fruit flies in the kitchen and errant house flies buzzing around my ear at two in the morning is akin to torture.
Of course when it comes to eradicating a fly or moth that follows us in – that is my husband’s domain. Unfortunately when he gets going he is like a bull in a china shop swatting and breaking lights and swinging and ninety percent of the time he misses his target i.e. the happy fly continues to buzz after my husband’s swatting ends and the cycle starts all over again. While my husband would be fine with us hanging pest strips with dead bugs caught in flight, all over our kitchen- that is not the design aesthetic I am looking to showcase. And I will never resort to any kind of sprays that spew chemicals throughout leaving behind an awful smell none of which can be good for my kids or pets.
So what is the alternative to that incessant insect buzzing around the house?
The answer is a great inexpensive remedy to this age old problem called Zevo Flying Insect Trap which is a plug in that solves the problem of flies, moths, mosquitoes, fruit flies and midges in your home.
How does it work?
Zevo attracts flying insects with a multi-spectrum light technology that mimics nature’s most primal powers of attraction and then traps them into a super-sticky adhesive backing that you never have to touch! Zevo smartly appeals to a bug’s biology, so they don’t have to use chemical insecticides.
Where should you plug in Zevo?
Zevo can be plugged into any outlet in the kitchen, the garage, the laundry room or near drains where you can safely plug and take back your space.
What makes it unique?
The Zevo plug-in flying insect trap comes with replaceable trap cartridges. So you never have to touch those creepy flying insects! Simply throw the full cartridge in the trash without ever touching dead bugs!
Zevo is also chemical insecticide-free and doesn’t disperse chemicals into the air. It is made of Polycarbonate plastic and uses an adhesive to trap flying insects inside the refill cartridge. It stays sticky for months but for optimal usage replace every 15-30 days.
What about the price?
The starter device with two refill cartridges is only $12.99. For the whole house 3 devices and 6 cartridges is $35.99.
Bottom line: Zevo is a great solution for a problem that lasts from spring to late fall and spoils the beauty and fun of the season with a product that easily resolves those pesky crawlers!.
