Easy Raspberry and Cream Breakfast Braid

Easy Raspberry and Cream Breakfast Braid
1 Reduced Calories Refrigerated Crescent Roll (8 rolls)
4 oz. of 5 day strained Fat Free Plain Greek Yogurt
2 Tbsp of Powdered Sweetener, like Lakanto Monk fruit
4 tsps. of Sugar Free Raspberry Jam
½ tsp of turbinado, Sugar in the Raw

Preheat oven 375 degrees

First to make the yogurt  Here’s how to make cream cheese from yogurt : You’ll need a fine mesh strainer and 1.5qt glass bowl that’s about 4″ deep, the strainer needs to rest on the rim of the bowl, so however wide a bowl you need. Add 1 or 2 Cups of Plain Fat Free Greek Yogurt, Fage works best, directly into the strainer, place the strainer over the glass bowl and tightly wrap with saran wrap. After 24 hrs. empty any liquid from the bowl and rewrap(you might have a little yogurt as well, that’s ok) rewrap and place back into the refrigerator. Check it every other day for liquid, removing any, rewrap and place back in the refrigerator. Day 5 you’ll have yogurt cream cheese.

Now for the rest of the recipe

On a flat, lightly floured surface, roll out the crescent dough, fold up and reroll using rolling pin to a 12”x10” rectangle. Transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet. Cut the 4 small corners off (triangles) Make 1” long slanted cuts down each side (same number of cuts on both sides). Mix strained yogurt with powdered sweetener, 1 tbsp at a time, spread down center of dough add jam and spread gently over top of cream. Fold just the top of the dough down over filling, same with the bottom, fold up. Then fold cut strips, left over right. Sprinkle with turbinado.

Bake 15-18 minutes, I did 18. Let cool, slice into desired servings.
